Attending the BRICS Summit in Kazan Russia, Serbian Deputy PM Aleksandar Vulin said on Monday that BRICS inspired hope for a more just world, and added that it was an organization of free countries that were imposing no conditions on Serbia and that it would be irresponsible not to explore opportunities that were presenting themselves. He said in the next few years, Serbia will have to decide between joining the EU or BRICS.
Vulin pointed out that countries like China, Russia, India, Brazil, South Africa or the UAE had imposed no conditions whatsoever on Serbia. “No one has said ‘recognise Kosovo,’ Russia has not requested that we introduce sanctions against the EU, China has not requested that we change our electoral legislation, and India has not requested that we legalize homosexual marriages,” Vulin, who headed a Serbian delegation told the media.
He said that the BRICS countries expect Serbia to “conduct an independent policy and do as it suits us.” He added that Russian President Vladimir Putin has always said that what was good for Serbia was also good for Russia.
Serbia is among friends in BRICS, Vulin noted, adding that the Serbian delegation met with great hospitality in Kazan. “I believe that within two to three years at the most, we will have to decide whether we want the EU or BRICS. And it will have to be done by the citizens of Serbia in a referendum.”
The EU needs to be ended. Permanently.
