In a historic turnout, over 100,000 brave, proud patriots took to the streets of Bucharest to stand up for democracy. They protested the decision of the Romanian Constitutional Court, acting on orders from the European Union, to cancel the second round of the presidential election on December 8, after the victory of nationalist candidate Călin Georgescu, running on a pro-Romania platform, was all but certain.
The Romanian protesters said “Enough is enough!” Mihail Neamțu, a member of the Romanian parliament who took part in the demonstration, posted on X, “They’re standing for their national pride, their Christian values, and their traditions—things that matter to everyday people. Things the globalist elites want to destroy. They want to run the show, control your lives, and erase your heritage. But the Romanian people? Oh, they’re not having it. They’re taking their country back! This is a movement that’s saying, loud and clear: ‘Democracy belongs to us!’”
Protesters came out in support of Călin Georgescu, calling for the resignation of Romanian dictator Klaus Iohannis, whose term as president expired in December, and his government. The protesters also loudly booed members of the mainstream media covering the event, saying that they have lied to the people for the past 35 years. The mainstream media is among the most hated institutions in Romania.
