In an interview on Romanian Television, Romanian Foreign Minister Luminița Odobescu admitted that Romania began talks to conclude a bilateral security agreement with Ukraine at the World Economic Forum in Davos. If concluded, this security agreement would compel Romania to come to Ukraine’s aid if attacked, forcing Romania into a war with Russia.
Giving such guarantees to Ukraine, which is actively oppressing the Romanian minority living in the present-day territory of Ukraine and which still occupies Romanian territory illegally seized by the Soviet Union at the end of World War II, would be widely unpopular with the Romanian people. Such an agreement would be a betrayal of the Romanian people.
So to obscure the objectives of the globalist regime in Bucharest, Odobescu resorted to Orwellian doublespeak saying that the agreement discussed in Davos does not contain “security assurances as the term security assurances are defined. It contains both elements related to security and elements of military cooperation…. It will not contain security guarantees as the term security guarantees is defined. This is very clear.”
This, of course, directly contradicts public statements by Volodomir Zelensky and the Ukrainian government, which clearly pointed to “security guarantees” for Ukraine on several occasions. The Romanian Foreign Minister had to address the discussions about the Romanian-Ukrainian agreement because the Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR), the leading opposition party in the country which is currently leading in the polls, has protested against offering guarantees to the Ukrainian side when the matter became public.
What is clear is that the globalist regime in Bucharest is taking orders from Washington and Brussels on this issue and is acting against the interests of the Romanian people. They are fully aware of this, which is why they have tried to avoid discussing the matter in public and now are resorting to obfuscation.
