During a meeting in Moscow with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dačić received assurances that Russia will always support Serbia’s territorial integrity and that Russia will block any move by the U.N. Security Council to recognize Kosovo as an independent country.

Dačić visited Moscow at the invitation of Lavric to attend a friendly soccer match between Russia and Serbia.

The Serbian Foreign Minister stressed that relations between Serbia and Russia are very strong and that the personal relationship between the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić and Russian President Vladimir Putin is excellent.

“It is of vital importance,” Dačić told the media, “that we know that, in the Security Council, we have one certain vote that will always be against Kosovo’s independence and that will always support Serbia’s territorial integrity.”
