European leaders were prompt to react to Saturday’s attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán was among the first to speak out, posting on X (formerly Twitter), “My thoughts and prayers are with President @realDonaldTrump in these dark hours.” Orbán had just met with the former President at Mar-a-Lago on Thursday following last week’s NATO summit in the nation’s capital.
Trump’s close ally and newly elected UK MP, Nigel Farage said “He is the bravest man I have ever met. We must pray for the 2 people in hospital.”
French opposition leaders also expressed their solidarity with Trump. Marine Le Pen posted on X, “The assassination attempt against Donald Trump, who miraculously escaped this attack, is a dramatic symbol of the violence that undermines our democracies. Good recovery to him and moving thoughts for the Republican activists who were victims of this madness.” Florian Philippot posted, “They wanted to kill #Fico they failed They wanted to kill #Trump they failed The globalists will lose the game!”
Bulgarian opposition leader Kostadin Kostadinov declared on Telegram, “After the shooting of the Prime Minister of Slovakia, there was also a shooting of Trump today. Vazrazhdane condemns political violence in all its forms. We express our full support for Donald Trump, wish him a speedy recovery and victory in the elections in the fall. Vazrazhdane points out that the main fault for the wave of violence lies with the liberal-globalist elite, pushing constant hate speech through its media channels. The fact that the pro-American parties in Bulgaria did not condemn the attempt on Fico and are now silent about the attack on Trump is telling.
President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik decalred on X, “I strongly condemn attempt of assassination of a presidential candidate and former US President, Donald Trump. I wish a speedy recovery and fulfilment of all his future ambitions. Violence should never be an answer to any dispute.”
Co-leader of Romania’s leading opposition party AUR, Claudiu Tarziu, posted on X, “Former President @realDonaldTrump was shot at an election rally in #Pennsylvania. When powerless, the far left reveals its true nature. The whole world knows that #Trump cannot be stopped from winning another term in the White House unless they kill him.”
Italy’s Giorgia Meloni declared, “In political debate, all over the world, there are limits that should never be crossed. It is a warning to everyone, regardless of political affiliation, to restore dignity and honor to politics, against all forms of hatred and violence, and for the good of our democracies. Solidarity with Donald #Trump , his supporters and the injured, and my heartfelt condolences for the victim and his family.”
No matter how he does it, "the Donald" keeps winning with friends like these all over the world. Woe to those who are in opposition.
