• Serbia Set To Acquire 12 Rafale Fighter Jets From France

    Serbia is set acquire 12 Rafale fighter jets from France. The deal was announced during a visit by French President Emmanuel Macron to Belgrade. This is the first time that Serbia has acquired Dassault aircraft.

    According to media reports, the contract for 9 single-seater Rafales and 3 two-seaters is worth approximately US$3 billion. The purchase price includes an auxiliary logistics package, spare engines and parts. Serbia is purchasing the planes with the F3 configuration. Delivery is scheduled for 2029. The purchase price does not include armaments, such as missiles and bombs.

    At a news conference announcing the deal, Serbian President Alexander Vučić told reporters, “The contract was signed with a logistics package. From spare engines to everything else. The total value is 2.7 billion euros. Twelve brand new planes will be owned by Serbia. That is great news and will contribute to a significant increase in the operational capabilities of our army.
