In light of the anti-American attitudes of many in the Romanian political elite, and their destruction of democratic institutions evidenced by their refusal to allow leading presidential candidate and pro-democracy advocate Călin Georgescu from the ballot in the upcoming presidential election, the U.S. State Department has suspended implementation of the visa waiver program for Romanian citizens that was set to go into effect at the beginning of April.
The move is also the result of recent attacks by leaders of Romania’s globalist government on the Trump Administration. Last week, the vice-president of the National Assembly, Valentin Jucan, said in a broadcast that “America must be denazified.”
Romanian Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu lied when he tried to deny any connection between the Trump administration’s support for Georgescu and the decision to put the Visa Waiver Program on hold.
Despite his protestations, Romanians know the truth. Romanian professor Paul Dragoș Aligică told the Romanian news outlet R3Media, “Let us not deceive ourselves: Romanians and Romania are the big losers here, at the hands of their own political, media and intellectual elites.”
Once again, the Romanian political elite has proven their disdain for their own people. The ruling elites in Bucharest are puppets of the international globalist establishment.
