Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik made waves this week with blunt remarks that cut to the heart of the Balkan question the globalist West refuses to answer honestly: why should Bosnian Serbs remain locked inside a failing state they never chose?
Speaking on the U.S. conservative podcast War Zone while visiting Washington, Dodik put it plainly: "We Christians do not want to live under Muslim rule any longer." He invoked centuries of Ottoman domination and the documented persecution Serbs endured — history the Western press prefers to memory-hole.
"We believe that Bosnia and Herzegovina is not a place for us," he said. It is a statement of ethnic and civilizational reality that NATO bureaucrats and EU diplomats have spent three decades trying to suppress.
Dodik also dismissed the Dayton Agreement — the 1995 arrangement that ended the Bosnian War by creating a power-sharing system among Bosniaks, Serbs, and Croats — as exactly what it has always been: a fiction imposed by outside powers, not a genuine settlement reflecting the will of the people living under it.
He argued that Serbs should have followed the same path as the other Yugoslav successor states after the federation’s collapse — self-determination, sovereignty, a future of their own choosing. Instead they were strong-armed into a dysfunctional multiethnic state that has never cohered and never will.
Republika Srpska, the Serb-majority entity within Bosnia, has long sought the right to determine its own political future, including the possibility of independence. The globalist establishment labels this dangerous nationalism. From any honest America First perspective, it looks like a people asserting the same right to self-governance that the United States was founded upon.
Dodik had warm words for President Donald Trump, describing him as offering "freedom, hope, a new window opening to freedom" — a sharp contrast to the Biden years, during which the previous administration weaponized financial pressure against him, blocking his access to banking and even his own salary.
Dodik leads the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats and remains the central figure in Republika Srpska politics. His 2025 conviction for defying Bosnia’s international High Representative — an unelected foreign official with sweeping powers over a supposedly sovereign country — only underscores the absurdity of the arrangement Dayton created.
The Serb question in Bosnia is not going away. The globalist project of forcing incompatible civilizations into a single administrative unit is failing — in Bosnia as everywhere else. Dodik is simply saying out loud what millions already know.
