President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik announced on Tuesday that his country does not want to join NATO and will suspend all cooperation activities with the Euro-Atlantic alliance. “From the deputy minister in the Council of Ministers and ministers in the Government of Srpska to all operatives working on those issues, including the commission with a number of Serbs appointed by the Council of Ministers. On this issue, we will cease working,” Dodik declared during a press conference in Banja Luka.
“We cannot be a member of the NATO alliance, not because of the conflict between Ukraine and Russia. As we have said before. Why should we be afraid of the NATO alliance and say that we were joking last time? No, we were not joking, now we are more determined,” Dodik said, adding that Republika Srpska does not want to align itself with any side.
“We want to our own destiny here. I don’t decide things for Great Britain and America, and I don’t want them to decide for us either,” Dodik said, adding that all the measures taken by the High Representatives have been anti-Serb and aimed at the destruction of Republika Srpska. “They just lie, they come here and reach an agreement, and if it doesn't suit them tomorrow, that agreement is not implemented by all those from the EU and those who come from European power centers,” the President of Republika Srpska explained.
