Serbian Prime Minister Miloš Vučević tendered his reignation on Wednesday, along with other members of the government. If a new government is not formed within 30 days, President Aleksandar Vučić said he will call early elections, likely for June 8.
The resignation comes after massive protests rocked the capital over the weekend. Unrest in the country has been building since the collapse of the train station roof in Novi Sad killed 15 people in the fall of last year.
If elections are held in June, it would be only 18 months since the country last went to the polls. Protesters accuse the government of massive corruption that led to the train station roof collapse, as the project was part of China’s Belt and Road Initiative.
New elections could raise the specter of massive foreign interference in the Balkan country that globalist forces have long tried to subjugate. George Soros and his myriad of NGOs have been working for decades to destabilize Serbia.
