A recent poll released by Sociopol, one of the most reliable research institutes in Romania, shows that if the presedential election were held today, the president of the Social Democrat Party (PSD), successor of the Romanian Communist Party and one of the leading of globalist forces in the country, Marcel Ciolacu, would finish first with 25% of the vote. He is followed by President of the Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR), a pro-sovereinty party, George Simion with 19%. Other candidates rank as follows: Mircea Geoană (Ind.) 15%, Elena Lasconi (USR) 14%, and Nicolae Ciucă (PNL) 12%.

If these results hold true when the election is held in the fall, the second round would pit the globalist Ciolacu against the patriot Simion, giving Romanian voters a clear choice about a vision for the future of the country.

The survey was conducted between July 9-17, 2024, with a sample of 1,002 people, interviewed by the CATI method (by phone). The margin of error is +/- 3.2%, while the confidence level is 95%.
