A new poll by the Mediana Agency in Bulgaria reveals that the new globalist coalition orchestrated by the U.S. Embassy that now governs the country is rapidly losing support among the population. According to Mediana, as reported by the Bulgarian News Agency, the majority of respondents say “This is not our government!”

In response to the question “Who would you vote for if the elections were today?” 23.3% say they would vote for GERB-UDF, 18% for Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB), 15.4% for Vazrazhdane, 12.9% for the Movement for Rights and Freedom (MRF), 9% for the Bulgarian Socialist Party, and 5.4% for There Is Such a People (TISP). The survey was conducted between July 18 and 24, 2023 among 976 eligible voters. The survey shows that the parties comprising the new coalition are quickly losing support, while the opposition, led by Vazrazhdane, continues to gain ground.

President Rumen Radev enjoys the highest trust among the respondents, and among the political leaders with the highest support are Boyko Borissov of GERB, Korneliya Ninova of the Bulgarian Socialist Party, and Kostadin Kostadinov, leader of Vazrazhdane, the principal opposition party at the moment.

The poll also revealed the unpopularity of the new government. 47% of the respondents disapprove of the government led by Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov, while only 20% approve. 33% expressed no opinion.

The Mediana survey also asked about the major issues facing the country. On issue of the war in Ukraine, almost half of the population (47%) fear the danger of the new World War and favor distancing Bulgaria from the conflict in Ukraine. Only 26% of Bulgarians believe that the Russian invasion of Ukraine was unprovoked and unjustified, while 36% believe that Russia was provoked by the West.

An overwhelming majority of the population, 65%, oppose Bulgaria giving arms to Ukraine, while only 17% are in favor of doing so. The vast majority of Bulgarians, 60%, think that the country should remain neutral in the conflict. The new government is acting in direct opposition to the wishes of its citizens by aggressively working to supply Ukraine with military equipment.

As for the question of adopting the Euro, only 21% think that the Euro should replace the Lev as the national currency in the next two to three years, as the current government intends to do, while 59% oppose the move. The overwhelming majority of the population favors holding a referendum on the issue, something that the current government rejects.

The poll also reveals that if the referendum proposed by Vazrazhdane is held, an overwhelming majority will vote in favor of preserving the Lev as the country’s currency for the foreseeable future. The issue of the referendum is now before the country’s Constitutional Court.

The Median poll clearly reveals that the new U.S. Embassy government is tone-deaf and acting in direct opposition to the wishes of the vast majority of Bulgarians. If the current trend continues, Bulgaria is on the verge of a new political crisis, one that can be blamed solely on the refusal of those governing the country to respond to the needs and wishes of its citizens.
